Should I or shouldn’t I?

I am thinking of starting to write a book.

The book will be about my son who was the victim of a road traffic accident in 2006. He was in a coma for 6 weeks and had substantial injuries including a brain injury. I kept a diary of what happened  from day 1.

The diary also includes problems that we have come across since he came home, the anger, the drinking, depression and the self harming.

I am hoping that others, who’s loved ones who have been through similar injuries can gain an insight of what to expect over the years.

I have never written a book before and am a little hesitant at taking on the task but feel that I owe it to others to let them know my story, something that they could expect, as we had nothing to refer to and very, very little help during the years.

Should I do it?

  4. Without a doubt you should do it! Don’t allow your son’s accident and your stuggles to be in vain. There is something that many of us can take away with us by reading all you have been through. Prayers to you and your family.

  5. I think you should write the book but for a different reason. Writing it may help you with some of the feelings you have about this time in your life. Nothing can take away the difficulty but the book may help you in some way.
